If you would like to consider joining the Bradford Community Church congregation in celebration and the search for truth and meaning in your life, you will be asked to follow our path for membership. Of course, in special situations, the minister may suggest an alternative procedure, but usually we ask that you: 1) Visit our church... It is important that you get to know us, and we have the opportunity to share with you our personal paths and dreams. Examine our principles, and compare them with your own. 2) Attend a series of "UU University" classes... These are designed to to provide you with necessary background and understanding of the institution and congregation that is BCCUU by:
A) Sharing your spiritual journey (background) with other "seekers" – and select members of our congregation – to clarify in your mind your readiness to participate more fully in congregational life.
B) Learning the history of Bradford Community Church and briefly review the history of Unitarianism and Universalism to provide a framework for your understanding.
C) Examining the "nuts & bolts" of this congregation – the volunteer committees which provide support and fulfill the necessary functions to ensure the smooth operation of the church.
D) Finally, discerning realistically the contributions you can make in time, talents, and financial support for our church mission, and signing the membership book signifying your acceptance of this congregation as your own. 3) Celebrate by attending a New Member Brunch Break bread with other members of the congregation and cement the relationships which are so important in our community. Join us! We'd love to have you!
